The starting point the work are the discotheques for the people with hearing impairment, organised by ‘Belarusian Association for Deaf People’. Based on the interviews, visual documentation and archives of the Belarusian pantomime theatre of actors with hearing impairment, the video traces the notions of rhythm and silence, along with the history of music and silence within the Western theatre dance tradition.
The non-synchronised soundscape is composed by the sounds below 100 Hz collected from the pop playlist of these discotheques and techno tracks, thus being reduced to the beat and being accessible rather corporeally.
