. Slides for the lecture-performance

digital collage

The artist works with the issues of bodily experience, exclusion and discursive violence. The slides combine montage of various texts and images, forming an imaginary confused narrative of a future lecture-performance that will not take place. The inscriptions include author's writings and citations from academic texts, as well as explications' excerpts from the Belarusian National Art Museum. The artist uses dance and movement notations and conceptual schemes. The cliched language of the official Belarusian art discourse is decontextualized, pointing to the processes of depoliticizing and alienation of the artwork from the viewer and social reality. The work with text and abstract graphic images points towards the complex relationship between text and image, experience and its representation, art and politics.
